5 Ways To Reach Your Audience

The online/digital world is vast, and continues to grow every day. Gone are the days where you’re sure to reach your target audience by publishing ads or other content in the newspaper or having them broadcasted on your favourite radio station. The Internet today is very different from back in the 90’s, and it’s up to you to meet your audience where they are. Now that doesn’t mean you need to be everywhere, it simply means you need to identify your target audience, learn about them and figure out how (and where) they like to consume content.

With that being said, here are 5 ways you can reach your audience with your content:

1.  Audio: Audio content can be anything from books, recordings of calls or trainings, podcasts, etc. Many people desire multi-tasking and prefer listening to content via their mobile devices while doing household chores, exercising or driving.

2.  Articles/Blogs: Many people love a good article/blog post and will revisit it several times because of the value it provides – especially if they’re readers. They’ll also be quick to share it with their network if it resonates with them.

3.  Videos: With the evolution of the Internet (and the reduction of our attention-span on a  whole), video has taken on a life of its own. Some people just want to “watch a video now” to glean the idea of a topic and will revisit (replay) the video in entirety at a later date/time. Others learn and retain information better when content is visually demonstrated to them. Video is possibly the most popular method of content delivery in today’s online space.

4.  Forums/Groups: As the path of entrepreneurship is being explored by many, more professionals are seeking to connect with others within (and outside) of their industry, as well as potential clients. Consequently, Whatsapp, Facebook and other dedicated online group discussion mediums provide a comfortable environment to share content and build business relationships with others.

5.  Short Courses/Trainings: The entrepreneurship journey is one of continuous learning and improvement of skills to remain marketable. As such many professionals are constantly seeking valuable, bite-sized training material that teaches them about business, marketing, programs/tools or other topics they desire to learn. Short courses can include audio, video, PDF documents (e.g. checklists, guides, worksheets, etc.) all geared towards benefitting your audience.
